Patches and Gretchen at The Replacements Tribute
Quirky Patches & Gretchen played a sloppy set of non-Replacements tunes that seemed to be delivered entirely on a whim, including “Mr. Bojangles” (the ‘Mats themselves liked to drop surprises into their sets)

Patches and Gretchen at the Eagles Club in St. Paul

Sometimes in the middle of the night when I am waking up and wandering the kitchen eating a stale piece of bread, there are people making love. ( in all kinds of ways)
So this is today’s thank you list to the sexiest!
(in other words) PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONATED TO THE MAKING OF SUGAR HEAD PIE!
Jim Denomie
He is a friend of mine. He has a show going on right now. You needa get over there. Rumor has it that this great artist might be a great cooker of sugar head pie. Cooker, that’s what I meant.
Tom Taylor
This guy is just cool. He comes to the shows and he doesn’t even have to like me but he helped and that should qualify him to hang in the louvre in the sex symbol section.
It’s this guy. A real mensch somebody called him. This guy has a light when you talk to him. His light is on. He really is interested in what’s going on, he still gets excited. And he’s funny too. Anyway, he’s good in my book because I yelled at him and he took it like a man, and then he became a fan.
It doesn’t always work like that.
David Wynn
He’s from England and he likes me and the band. Let me know it when most people wouldn’t bother.
It’s a magical mystery to me.
